新年快樂，& Happy Year of the Ox! I hope you guys all had a tasty new year's eve (and got plenty of red envelopes and candy)! New Year's is typically a time where families gather together and eat noodles, and it can be really fun to write about our culture! Even if your family or culture doesn't celebrate the lunar new year, the horoscopes are always super fun to check out, and why not make another reason to celebrate? There's also a lot of superstitions regarding the new year in Chinese culture, like wearing new (preferably red) clothes and not sweeping or cleaning for the first few days after new year. We also typically cut our hair to have a "new start". Asian mythology is also quite interesting in itself, and I personally love the music. So consider taking this three day weekend to dive into Asian culture, and maybe write a few pieces with tidbits from your findings :)
